HATCHING GUIDE
From dormant cysts to living nauplii.
Stable hatching begins with the right basic conditions.
Prepare the saltwater
Dissolve 18 g of marine salt mix in 1 L of water to prepare saltwater at approximately 18‰ (1.8%).
Set the temperature
Maintain a temperature of approximately 28–31°C with vigorous aeration.
Wait for hatching
Under appropriate conditions, hatching normally takes approximately 20–24 hours.
Harvest the nauplii
Stop aeration, allow the container to settle for approximately 15 minutes, then collect the nauplii.
Hatching results may vary depending on water temperature, water quality, salinity, aeration and storage conditions.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
AQUA ELITE aims for a hatch rate of over 85% under appropriate storage and hatching conditions. Actual results may vary depending on temperature, water quality, salinity, aeration and storage conditions.
Yes. Artemia cysts are commonly known as brine shrimp eggs. AQUA ELITE supplies premium Artemia cysts for hatching fresh live feed for fish and suitable invertebrates.
① High nutritional value
Freshly hatched Artemia retain their yolk sac and contain nutrients needed during the early stages of growth. They are particularly suitable for feeding fry during their early development.
② Excellent feeding response
Live Artemia move actively in the water, making them effective at stimulating a fish's natural feeding instinct. They can also be easier to offer to fish that are reluctant to eat artificial feeds or frozen foods.
③ Fresh live feed, available when needed
Artemia can be hatched when needed and fed while still alive. This makes it easier for fish to exhibit natural feeding behaviour and allows feeding amounts to be managed more easily.
④ Small size, suitable for fry
Freshly hatched Artemia are very small, making them easy to feed to fry with small mouths. They are widely used as an early-stage feed for guppy and medaka fry, as well as for the young of many other fish species.
Artemia can be used in a variety of aquatic environments, including ornamental fish, marine fish and fry where live feed is appropriate.
Yes. AQUA ELITE can be used for certain invertebrates—including jellyfish, prawns and corals—where Artemia is suitable as feed. Please choose an appropriate feeding method according to the species and life stage of the animal.
Keep the cysts sealed and store them in a cool, dark and dry place away from heat and humidity. Freezing is recommended for long-term storage.
